LOAD 5 02/05/2012
I can't believe we're actually 5 days in and that I've managed to do a layout every day despite some real craziness going on with my schedule at school, and the other usual demands on my time. Today, I just knew what I wanted to scrap about as soon as I read Lain's prompt. Here are the thoughts I included on Flickr. This is a photo of my mom that I only got a copy of after her sudden passing on 12/7/12 at the age of 66. Even though this is not how she looked at the time of her passing, this is how I remember her growing up. As soon as I saw Lain's prompt for today, I knew that I would use this photo and which patterned paper I wanted to include. I did a lot of fussy cutting - something I don't usually do, and I wouldn't call this a fast layout by any means, but once I journaled my thoughts (which I did first) and pulled my supplies, it just came together. In memory of my mom, Dorothy Eileen Lorentz. Love you, Mom. I'm hoping to pull a few more supplies together for another 'layout' responding to a prompt from Stephanie Ackerman's Scrapbook Life Journal before going to my in-laws for the annual Super Bowl party. Not a football fan myself, but enjoy the time with family and friends. Add Comment LOAD day 1 02/01/2012
Well, here we are! The first day of LOAD. Fortunately for me, I had already knew that I was going to finish another page for my JYC (Journal Your Christmas) album. I've gotten up to Christmas day, and I think I'll be wrapping it up after Dec. 26 as that is when we got together with my husband's family to celebrate. So, for my layout I used a layout idea from Page Maps Nov. 2011, but I rotated the pictures as the ones I wanted to use where all horizontal. It's already posted to the LOAD Flickr gallery, and is visible in the sidebar below. | AuthorHi!
